Love, Marriage and bubbles

So this weekend was my best friend tattoos wedding and i was matron of honour. So Thursday naturally i took half day from the office and got my bags packed, nails done and completed week 4 of boot camp. Once that was all finished is was an hour long trip to meet the rest of the bridal party at the curry house down the road from the hotel we were staying at the night before the big day.

Well i wasn’t hungry and had a small glass of wine while the rest ate. The lovely owner of the restaurant was so great and said that he would buy me something to eat. Now i should point out that i had plenty of cash for the restaurant, i was just not hungry and i couldn’t check in to the hotel as Tattoo needed to be there! So i got the garlic mushrooms. Thank you to that lovely man.

So meal over and a drive back to the hotel. Tattoo travelled with me as we hadn’t been able to speak for a while due to the wedding and our conflicting work schedules, So she drove with me. Well i went down the same A road three times as she had put the curry houses postcode into the sat nav instead of the hotel.  After pulling over and laughing till we cried and then some, we got back on the road and when we arrived at the hotel, Tattoos mum and step dad was in the bar with a glass of wine for us and then the two other bridesmaids (We will cal them Tweedledee and Tweedledum) arrived. I knew straight away that this was going to be hard work as Tweedledee told me all about her sex life within 10 minutes of meeting her (I only had a brief encounter with them at the hen do, again work schedules etc.etc.) and Tweedledum had a face like thunder as she hadn’t got her own way at all during the planning of the big day. She had wanted designer this and designer that and Tattoo said no way!

At about 12 am we all turned in and tattoo and i sat up talking till 1.30. Just about family, how far we had both come in the ten years we have known each other. Anyway Tattoo fell a sleep and could i sleep! hell to the no! My god i heard every creak, every rustle and every time the two other bridesmaid ran down the hall for a fag!

So the next morning was the big day and Tattoo got up at 4.30 am (not happy but it was her day and i am not a scene stealer!) she was so calm and hungry! Two plates for breakfast lol and she shot off to the venue and left me with Tweedledee and Tweedledum. They were not ready in time and whined about how nervous they were.

Any way we got into my car and off we went to the wedding venue. Tattoo said it would take an hour tops to get there! Well we followed Tweedledee’s sat nav on her phone and two hours later and one stop for Tweedledum to stock up and fizz drinks, we arrived. The house was stunning and the bridal changing area was lovely. After a much needed brew, the make up started. Tweedledum was doing that and she did a great job! Pop the bubbles open and then onto hair and again that was fantastic!

After a morning of running around having hair and makeup done and then finding the dresses (mine was too big as i have lost quite a bit, but lucky that was fixed by a lovely lady at the venue!) and flowers etc.  It was time for Tattoo to marry the man in blue.

The service was short and sweet but amazing. Tattoo looked amazing in a white, strapless mermaid style dress with lace and pearl details. The man in blue looked handsome and very relaxed. As Tattoo entered the whole room asp at her beauty and i started to blub! The kiss at the end was a little OTT but that’s Tattoo for you!

I will blog about the reception another time. I am knackered as i haven’t been to bed before 1.30 since Thursday.  The reception was amazing and there are a hell of a lot of stories for you from that one! So i will see you all very soon.

Faithfully always yours

Duff
