Well that’s it folks! Panto season has started……Officially!
Last night was the first read through of our script for Cinderella. It was really good, the jokes were so bad that we groaned, Cinderella is as wet as a fish and the ugly sisters are well UGLY!
As last night was just a read through no roles have been assigned so it was a free for all. I read the fairy godmother, an ugly sister and the baroness Hard up! (Try not to say baroness Hard on, It’s so hard! BOOM BOOM)
We had so many new faces in the group last night, which is bloody amazing! And it wasn’t just kids we had new adults, male and female which is rare for are group.
Most of the nutters will NOT be in the show as Snowflake has “beef” with the director (long story!) and she is working on her own drama group, which is another blog all together! Seal will be at uni, Patsy is missing (we haven’t actually seen or heard from her in months!) and Elvis, well I am not sure what Elvis is up too at the moment (Crappy big sister that I am!)
All we have left is, Me, MIA, Tony and Jing! The group has literally halved! But its ok as we are all still seeing each other, well apart from Patsy! We have a new member that we are “testing the waters” with. His name will be Karate Kid, no really, he is! He is a Black belt and he is so funny!
So, the nutters are set for world domination! LOL we are expanding and meeting new nutters every week! Which is well…….NUTS!
Anyway, back to panto. The script is good the read through went extremely well and the new people are great! And another thing that happened last night is that we asked our new landlord at our new pub (we had to change as the politics in our last local was un-freaking-believable!) and we can take Tony in after drama group. Which is great as Tony has always wanted to join us but has always been too young (He is 17, but the landlord said its fine as long as he drinks soft drinks) so now the lad gets to listen to us all moan about being an adult lol.
The new landlord is so awesome! He is gay and flamboyant! He loves a drink and he loves to just chat! Which is what the Nutters are all about! His partner works in the west end as an actor and that’s awesome to us! He has made the pub a LGBTQ Community, which is safe for the young and old. There is no atmosphere and no worries! But I will do a second blog about the pub and its regulars.
Next week we have the panto workshops! Which is good as I am a tad rusty with my comic timing and then we are into auditions! So, you will have a few blogs coming up!
Have a great day guys!
